ある日、ららぽのスポーツ用品店をうろちょろしてたら、VENICE BEACH CALIFORNIAと書かれたニューエラのキャップがあるでは、あ〜りませんか!!

カリフォルニアのベニスビーチといえば、ボディビルのメッカですなぁ〜!!
僕も1992年の夏にボディビル修行に行きましたなぁ〜!!
いわば、第何番目かのふるさとですなぁ〜!!

それ以来、そのキャップが気になって気になってしゃ〜なかったんですが、なかなか買うところまで踏ん切りがつかず、もんもんとしてましたなぁ〜

そこへタイムリーにも今月いっぱいで失効するポイントカードのポイントがあるという知らせが来まして、このスポーツ用品店でもポイントを使えるということが判明!!

安らかに… / R.I.P. to Ed1

ボディビル界のレジェンド、エド・コーニーさんが亡くなられたそうで、心よりお悔やみ申し上げます。

85歳とのこと。

エドといえば、シュワ映画『パンピング・アイアン』で、アーノルドのトレーニングパートナーを務めるシーンやポージングの名手としてアーノルドが絶賛しているシーンが印象的ですなぁ〜!!

1994年にアトランタまでミスター・オリンピアを観戦に行った時には、マスターズオリンピアが新設され、エドの伝説的なポージングを生で見るという、ボディビルファンにとってはこの上ないぜいたくを味わうことができました。
そして、エドは60歳以上の部で見事優勝!!
当時、23歳だった僕は、エドとボディビルの可能性に大いなる勇気をいただきました。

あれからもう25年もたつのですね…

以下、変更理由のメモ。

肩をレイズ系で筋肉痛になるまで追い込むことにしたため、僧帽筋を同じ日にトレーニングするのがきつくなりましたなぁ〜
そこで、僧帽筋のトレーニングをハムストリングスの日にシフトしました。
当初はハムストリングスとカーフをやった後にシュラッグを入れてみましたが、先に脚をやると踏ん張れないので、シュラッグを先にもってきましたぞぉ〜
そしたら、なかなかええ感じですわ…しばらくこれでいきま。
